Users vs. People: What's the Difference?

Users control who can log into ComplyJet. People is your full employee and contractor roster. They're related but not the same list.

These two pages sound similar and live in different parts of the nav, which makes them easy to mix up — but they answer different questions.

People (Manage → Organisation → People)

Your complete roster: every current and former employee, contractor, and service account, synced automatically from your connected HR or identity provider (or added manually). This is where compliance status — policies, training, devices, background checks — is tracked per person.

Being on this list does not mean someone can log into ComplyJet. Notice the banner above: ComplyJet knows about 20 people here, but far fewer of them actually have login access — that's exactly what Users tracks.

Users (Setup → Settings → Users)

The much shorter list of people who can actually sign in to ComplyJet, each with an Admin or Employee role.

In this org, People has 20 entries — but Users has only 3. That gap is normal: most employees don't need their own ComplyJet login unless they're expected to log in themselves (to accept a policy, take training, or manage their own device).

Getting someone from People into Users

If someone on your People list needs access, invite them:

  • From the People page, click their row and invite them individually, or

  • From Settings → Users, use Invite All Employees to bulk-invite everyone who's missing access at once.

Until someone accepts an invite, they'll show up on People (so their compliance status is still tracked) but not on Users — and they won't receive reminder emails until they do.
