Understanding Audit Status and the Review Process

Once an audit is created, this is where you track your auditor's progress reviewing evidence — and the one caveat if your auditor works outside the platform.

Written by Upendra Varma

Once an audit is created and assigned to an auditor, open it from Prove → Compliance → Audits → View Audit to track their progress.

What the status badge means

Every audit card shows one of three statuses:

  • Upcoming — the audit exists and evidence has been assigned, but your auditor hasn't started reviewing it yet. This is normal right after creating an audit, and it's on your auditor's side of the fence, not yours — ComplyJet doesn't automatically kick off the review, and there's nothing further for you to click to "start" it.

  • In Progress — your auditor is actively working through evidence (you'll see the Accepted / Flagged / Pending Review counts moving).

  • Completed — the auditor has finished and issued the report.

If an audit has sat at "Upcoming" for a while with 0% progress, the most common cause isn't a ComplyJet problem — it's that the auditor engagement itself hasn't actually started yet. Creating the audit in ComplyJet and engaging an auditor are two separate steps (see Creating & Managing Audits); if you haven't yet signed paperwork with an audit firm and given them access, that's the step to chase down first, either directly with them or via Ask Customer Support.

Overview

Evidence Review Progress rolls up Total Evidence, Accepted, Flagged, and Pending Review counts — a live view of how far your auditor has gotten, updated as they work through your evidence rather than waiting for a final report.

Important caveat: if your auditor conducts their review outside ComplyJet (their own tooling, spreadsheets, etc.), you won't see that activity reflected here — this page only shows progress made through the platform's own review workflow. If progress looks stalled, it may just mean your auditor is working elsewhere; ask them directly, or use Ask Customer Support if you're unsure.

Evidence

The Evidence tab lists every item with its individual status:

This is read-only from your side — accepting or flagging evidence is your auditor's call, not yours. What you can do is reply to any comments they've left, right from the Comments column or the dedicated Comments tab, if they've flagged something and need more detail from you.
