Why Inventory Matters

Keeping track of your infrastructure inventory is essential for meeting security compliance standards like SOC 2, ISO 27001, and others. Auditors often require you to demonstrate that you know what’s running in production, who owns each resource, and how it supports your system.

That’s where ComplyJet helps — by automatically pulling in resources from your connected infrastructure providers and giving you one place to review and manage them.

Accessing Your Inventory

To get started, head to the Security > Engineering & Infra section and click on the Resources tab.

Here, you'll see a complete list of infrastructure components (e.g., servers, databases, buckets) that ComplyJet has discovered by integrating with your cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

What to Do on This Page

Your main goal here is to ensure your production inventory is fully and accurately reflected. You should:

  • Review each resource to verify that it belongs to your live production environment.

  • Set the scope of each item:

    • If a resource is out of scope (e.g., test/staging), mark it as such and add a brief reason.

    • If it's in scope, you're expected to provide two key details:

      • A short description of what the resource does (e.g., “Primary backend server for customer API”).

      • The owner responsible for managing it (usually an engineer or DevOps contact).

Maintaining Inventory Hygiene

Once your resources are reviewed and tagged correctly, you’ll have a clean, auditor-ready record of your infrastructure. This makes it easier to:

  • Justify what’s in scope vs. out of scope.

  • Demonstrate ownership and responsibility across your systems.

  • Satisfy compliance controls related to asset management and change tracking.

Revisit this page periodically — especially when infrastructure changes — to ensure everything stays up to date.

Summary

The Resources tab helps you build trust and stay audit-ready by giving you full visibility into your production inventory. Review everything, mark what’s in scope, and make sure each resource has a clear purpose and owner.
